Recruiting Roadmap Course FAQ's:
How many courses do you offer and how do I know which one is right for us?
There are three courses, each built for a specific stage of the journey. The right course depends entirely on what grade your son is currently in and where you are in the recruiting process.
What is The Recruit?
The Recruit is built for 2028 families — players who are actively in their recruiting window right now. If your son is a current sophomore or junior and the process is underway, this is your course. It covers everything happening in real time: how to get evaluated, how to communicate with coaches, how to make the most of tournaments and showcases, and how to navigate the commitment process when offers start coming.
Price: $149 with lifetime access.
What is The Prospect?
The Prospect is built for 2029 and 2030 families — players who are still preparing for their recruiting year but want to understand the landscape before it begins. The recruiting window opens the summer before sophomore year and runs through roughly December of junior year. Families who go in educated make better decisions, target the right schools earlier, and waste less time and money. This course gives you that foundation.
Price: $149 with lifetime access.
What is The Player?
The Player is built for parents of players in grades 5 through 8. It has nothing to do with recruiting — it's about player development. What skills matter most at each age, how to evaluate your son's progress honestly, what to prioritize, and how to guide him through these formative years in a way that sets him up for long-term success. If your son is years away from recruiting but you want to be a smarter, more informed lacrosse parent right now, this is where to start.
Price: $99 with lifetime access.
What format are the courses?
All three courses are written and delivered on the Thinkific platform. You can work through the material at your own pace from any laptop or smartphone. There are no scheduled sessions, no deadlines, and no pressure — just clear, organized content you can return to whenever you need it.
Do the courses expire?
No. All three courses come with lifetime access. You can revisit the material at any point throughout your son's career — and many families do exactly that as circumstances change.
Can both parents access the course?
Yes. One purchase covers your household. Both parents can log in and work through the content independently or together.
Is there a right time to buy?
For The Recruit — NOW. If your son is a 2028 grad and you're not already informed and organized, time is working against you.
For The Prospect — the earlier the better. Families who understand the process before it starts make meaningfully better decisions than those who are learning on the fly.
For The Player — any time during grades 5 through 8. The earlier you understand how development actually works, the better you can guide your son through it.
Do the courses come with any personal access to Roy?
The courses are self-paced and designed to be comprehensive on their own. Families who want direct access to Roy can add a Recruiting Clarity Advisory call — available to any course purchaser. Details are on the Advisory page.
What if my son spans two courses — for example, he's a 2028 but we feel behind and want more foundational knowledge?
Start with The Recruit. It's built for where you are right now. The Prospect is designed for families preparing for a recruiting year that hasn't started yet — The Recruit assumes the clock is already running, which is the more useful framing for 2028 families regardless of where you feel you are in the process.
How do I purchase?
Each course has its own enrollment page. Select the course that fits your situation, complete your purchase, and you'll have immediate access through the Thinkific platform on any device.
Group Zoom FAQ's:
Who leads the session?
Every Recruiting Clarity Session is led by Roy Colsey — US Lacrosse Hall of Famer, former US Men's National Team coach, current PLL head coach, and father of three sons committed to or attending ACC programs. This isn't a staff presentation. Roy runs every session personally.
How many families or players can join?
There's no cap. The session runs on Zoom and is open to your entire organization — players, parents, and coaches. The more, the better.
How long is a typical session?
Most sessions run 60–75 minutes, including live Q&A at the end.
Can we tailor the session to our specific graduation years?
Yes. When you submit your inquiry, you'll share the grad years in your group and any specific areas of focus. Roy shapes the content around where your players actually are in the process.
We have players at different stages of recruiting. Will this still be relevant?
Absolutely. The recruiting timeline has distinct phases — fall club, sophomore spring, the summer evaluation period, the September 1 contact window — and Roy covers each one. Families at every stage walk away with something actionable.
Is this the same content as your online courses?
No. The courses are self-paced and designed for individual families. The Recruiting Clarity Session is live, interactive, and built around your specific group. The Q&A alone makes it a fundamentally different experience.
Can our coaching staff join?
Yes, and we'd encourage it. Coaches who understand the recruiting landscape are better equipped to guide their players and communicate with college staffs on their behalf.
How far in advance do we need to book?
We recommend reaching out at least 3–4 weeks before your ideal date, particularly during peak periods (late summer and early fall). Submit an inquiry and we'll confirm availability quickly.
What do families need to do to prepare?
Nothing is required. Families can submit questions in advance if they'd like, but the session is designed to be valuable with zero preparation on their end.
How do we get started?
Fill out the inquiry form on the Team Advisory page. Roy's team will follow up to confirm details, align on scheduling, and get your session booked.
1-On-1 Recruiting Clarity Advisory FAQ's-
**What is a Recruiting Clarity Advisory call?**
It's a private, one-on-one Zoom call with Roy Colsey — focused entirely on your son's recruiting situation. No group format, no generic advice. Roy reviews where your player stands, answers your specific questions, and gives you a clear picture of what to do next.
---
**Who is eligible to book an advisory call?**
Advisory calls are available exclusively to families who have purchased any Recruiting Roadmap course. This ensures every family Roy works with privately already has the foundational knowledge to make the most of their time together.
---
**I haven't purchased a course yet. What should I do first?**
Start with the course that matches where your son is in the process — The Prospect, The Recruit, or The Recruiting Roadmap. Once you've purchased, advisory call booking becomes available to you.
---
**What call options are available?**
There are three options:
30-Minute Advisory Call — ideal for families with focused, specific questions at a defined point in the process.
45-Minute Advisory Call — a deeper dive for families navigating a more complex situation or multiple decision points.
3-Pack of 30-Minute Sessions — designed for families who want ongoing access and guidance, particularly around the September 1st contact period when the recruiting window opens and decisions move fast.
---
**What's the best option for families approaching September 1st?**
The 3-Pack. The September 1st contact period is the most critical and most chaotic stretch of the entire recruiting process. Having Roy in your corner across multiple touchpoints — before, during, and after that window — gives your family a significant advantage when it matters most.
---
**What should we prepare before the call?**
Come with your son's current highlight film link, a list of schools he's contacted or heard from, and your most pressing questions. The more specific you are going in, the more Roy can accomplish in the time you have.
---
**Can my son join the call?**
Yes, and for older players we'd encourage it. Recruiting ultimately belongs to the player, and hearing Roy's perspective directly can be a turning point for how seriously they take ownership of the process.
---
**How do we book once we've purchased a course?**
After your course purchase, you'll receive access to advisory call booking. Select your preferred format, choose a time that works, and you'll receive a Zoom confirmation.
---
**Can we purchase additional calls after our first one?**
Yes. Families can book additional single sessions at any point. Many families return at key moments — before a big tournament, after receiving college interest, or heading into the commitment window.
---
**What if we still have questions after our call?**
The courses include substantial self-paced content that covers most situations in depth. For families who need more hands-on support, additional advisory sessions are always available.
